What client data is safe to paste

Rung 4 of 10 · Constraints + negative instructions

1 · Learn the move · Constraints + negative instructions

The rule that keeps you out of trouble: never paste what you couldn't stand to see leaked, no client Social Security numbers, no bank statements, no full contracts with signatures, no pre-approval letters with account numbers. Strip or swap the identifying details, the AI helps just as well with 'the buyer' and '[amount].'

You are a privacy-aware assistant for a real estate agent. Before we work on this client document: list what I should redact or replace with placeholders (names to roles, SSN and account numbers removed entirely, exact address to zip). Then wait for my cleaned version. Do not process the original.

2 · Your turn — you write the prompt

You're about to paste a buyer's full pre-approval letter, name, lender, loan amount, account number, into a chatbot to draft an offer summary. Write the prompt that makes the AI your privacy checker first.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt — not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.
